Guess where I'm at? I'm back, and here in Napa again. It feels good to be here again. It was foggy today. I heard a lot of good things about Rutherford Pizza. I've been meaning to do this a long time, this been long overdue. I was craving some Pizza. I saw this Plaza a few times, but didn't know this Pizzeria was here. It's a charming part of the neighborhood. It looks clean, cozy, and cool in here. I'm looking for a New York Pizza. I'm surprised I was the only one when I got here, there should be more people here on a weekday. I noticed how as soon as I got to the cashier table, I can see the professional grade mixer stand in the kitchen kneading the dough and baked Pizzas flying out the oven. This is traditional, and resemble more like an authentic New York Pizzeria. They do Pizza slices. I had to get a Giant slice, that's the only way. I've been to New York a few times, so I would know if this is authentic. Most of the time they give me Crushed Red Pepper or Grated Parm, but I never got this exotic looking seasoning. For a minute, I was thinking it was Fennel. But later on, they told me it was Ground Oregano. I never had Ground Oregano, this was my first time. It was pleasant, light and fragrant on the palate. The Cheese was so fresh, it was made with whole milk. This is how Pizza sauce should be. This is the type of Pizza sauce I would see in a top notch Lasagna, Aubergine Parmesan, or Chicken Parm. The dough is outstanding. This might sound funny, but the bread and crust reminds me somewhat of Fried Tofu Skin. It's that crunchy, delicate, and formed perfectly. It's chewy, but not too chewy. This is probably one of the best Pizzas I ever had, this is as close to real New York Pizza that I had so far out here in Napa. I finished the whole thing. It was so satisfying. I was thinking this was going to be a 4.0-4.3 stars; I rarely do this for something like this, but I give this 4.4 stars. It lived up to the hype.

I'm not from NAPA, and bumped into this small family style pizzeria. I saw the amazing looking pizza, and was greeted by Jose, he did it for me, I asked about a couple different items and he had the right guidance to a great pizza experience. The food was hot, fresh, and right out of the oven. Thank you Jose!! FG

Amazing first time lunch visit. The pepperoni was delish. The Hawaiian? Really good, And we sat on the patio and sipped a beer. Great pizza. Great location. Cheers!

Pretty good pizza. I got the king slice pizza and it was huge! Indoor and outdoor seating.

The delivery service was amazing! I ordered through GrubHub and never received confirmation or updates about my order. So I called the restaurant. The employee who answered the phone told me that my order was never assigned by GrubHub. As a result, he said he would deliver my order to me since he was just getting off work and my hotel was on his way home... AMAZING SERVICE! I'm bummed because I didn't get the employee's name to write in this review. But whoever he is, word to management, don't let him leave you. That's dedication and is hard to find these days. GREAT JOB!! By the way, the NY pizza was very good... pretty traditional tasting. The Kale Cesar Salad was a little dry, but it's Kale... gotta expect that.

The staff is really friendly here. It really gives you a family feel. We ordered two pizzas, the Margherita and the meat lovers. The crust was thin but really good. My only complaint is that I feel like my pizza was given to someone else by mistake because there was a couple that came after us that got their pizza first (the Margherita) and it looked fresh. My pizza was not hot. It was warmish. Then when my husband got his pizza, it was scorching hot. You can tell it just came out of the oven. That's how I wanted mine. Also, they were very tight on the fresh basil. Besides that, everything was good.

This is my second review of Rutherford Family Pizza. As before, this is the best New York style pizza in Napa. The crust is thin, the sauce is very good, the pepperoni is high quality, the cheese is good and there's not too much of it. The New York style pizzas come out of a regular pizza oven and you can buy a whole pizza or by the slice. Slices offered are cheese, pepperoni, veggie and supreme. I would love to see them offer a chicken Parm slice but there is something for everyone. One slice is more than enough to feel pleasantly full. My son loves their wood-fired pizzas, which are not sold by the slice. I prefer the New York style but the wood-fired is also very good. The restaurant is family owned, very clean, and very popular with locals. Again, best New York style slice in Napa.
